Wife, Body and Bride

Question: Who is the subject of Isaiah Chapter nine?

IMO it refers to, and comments on the Government of the Promised Son, I.E. Christ Jesus!

The Churches teach that Christians are the “Bride of Christ”; but Old Testament Scripture shows that the Jews are the Bride; and currently the “unfaithful wife”!

Google: In Hosea, God command Hosea, “Go, take to yourself an adulterous wife and children of unfaithfulness, because the land is guilty of the vilest adultery in departing from the LORD” (Hosea 1:2).  Hosea responded by marrying Gomer, who indeed was an adulterous wife.

Currently, Israel is still the “unfaithful wife” because she rejected Jesus as Messiah at Acts 28:25–28; which was God’s gift to them, to expiate their sins!

Currently, Christians are “the Body of Christ Jesus”; and they enter when they accept Him as Lord and Saviour!

The Jewish Nation is at present “Lo-Ammi”, and have been since Acts 28:25–28; but that condition will reverse when the events of Zech. 12:10 are activated!

After their “mourning” period, they will be reinstated as God’s people (Ezek. 39:21–29), and will hold the position of “Kingdom of Priests” unto God; and are called His “Wife”

In the Bible, Israel is referred to as the wife of God in the Old Testament, and the relationship between God and Israel is described using the metaphor of marriage:

·         Israel as the Bride of Yahweh:  The Old Testament uses the metaphor of Israel as the Bride of Yahweh, with passages like Isaiah 62:5, which says, “As the Bridegroom rejoices over the Bride, so shall your God rejoice over you”.

·         Hosea 2:19:  This verse says, “Israel, I will make you My wife; I will be true and faithful; I will show you constant love and mercy and make you mine forever”.

·         Jeremiah 2:2:  This verse depicts Israel's love for God as the love of a Bride.

·         The following indicate the “Bride’s” relationship!

·         Here are some Bible verses that mention the Bride of Christ:

·         Revelation 19:7  "Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His Bride has made herself ready"

·         Revelation 21:2  "And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God, made ready as a Bride adorned for her husband"
